What is a Palette Session?
Three hours of guided freestyle exercises to unlock the essence of your movement.
A community of movers who want to push and grow together.
Open to all dance styes and levels of experience (from street dance to ballroom, contact improvisation, folk dance and beyond).
Within street dance culture, a ‘session’ is a grassroot community event which brings together diverse dancers to improvise to music. The aim of a session is to dance together, share your craft with others and form tight-knit communities.
Palette Session was founded in South Korea by movement artist CHAEDO / Chae Hyeonseok while studying choreography at Paekche Institute of the Arts from 2018-2020. CHAEDO developed these experimental freestyle exercises to bridge gaps between classmates who practiced other street dance forms (e.g. krump, hip hop, breaking).
