NIDA’s Winter Season is coming up. Simon Phillips, one of Australia’s great stage directors, brings his hallmark clarity and velocity to Shakespeare’s wildest comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, on the Parade stage. In a world premiere commissioned by NIDA, Anthea Williams directs Keziah Warner’s Possessions, a taut new thriller in which grief, guilt and something beneath the floorboards refuse to stay buried.
Miranda Middleton directs In Pieces, Joey Contreras’s queer-inclusive musical tracing the fragments of love that linger. And Dino Dimitriadis brings their award-winning artistry to The Bleeding Tree, Angus Cerini’s bracingly funny, fiercely lyrical revenge tale, hailed as one of the most important Australian plays of the decade.
These productions showcase the talents of NIDA students across acting, music theatre, design, costume, make-up, props and effects, technical theatre, stage management, and set construction technologies.
