Listening to Sydney songwriter Haley Holgate feels like reading a diary you weren’t meant to find. Her writing is confessional and direct, but there’s a shift in her new work, less about sitting in the feeling, more about pulling it apart and deciding what stays.
Known for her clean-cut lyricism and vocals that hit you where it hurts, Haley’s earlier work held a quiet warmth. On her upcoming project, that warmth starts to turn. The songs are more pointed, more questioning, tracing the moment where trust breaks and something harder takes its place.
Haley has supported Mia Wray, Odette, Ullah, Ben Lee, Boy & Bear, and showcased at SXSW Sydney.
