Marrickville NSW 2204
Monster Mouse Studios
When

Thursday 17 October from 3pm to 7pm Sunday 20 October from 10am to 2pm

Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese craft repairing broken ceramic objects with lacquer and gold dust based on the Zen philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection. Much-loved, worn items are sustainably transformed into beautifully crafted new art pieces, rescuing objects that would otherwise be discarded.

The small group introductory workshops by designer Yoko Kawada teach kintsugi fundamentals including history and using tools. Each participant takes home their own piece of original kintsugi art. No experience and art skills necessary; all tools and materials provided including items to repair.
