Thursday 21 August from 6:30pm to 7:30pm
Join us for an opportunity to connect, learn, and share in a supportive and welcoming environment at our August LGBTIQA+ discussion group meeting.
This gathering is designed to bring people from the community together to chat, share ideas, and explore issues of importance to the LGBTIQA+ community. Think of it as a book club for short-form texts, enriched by the diverse perspectives and stories of its participants.
Each session is facilitated by guest activists, authors, and performers who not only guide the discussion but also invite attendees to share their own stories and insights. Before the event, participants will be informed of a selected text, which we will read together during the session and which will guide the discussion.
For our August edition, we are excited to welcome guest facilitators Tony Duke and Wart. Join the long time friends and accomplices as they discuss growing up and growing older and invite participants to share their experience of friendship and finding family.
Tony Duke is a queer gay man with an active career, nationally and internationally, in the creative industries.
Wart is a queer bisexual woman and renowned Sydney based multi-disciplinary artist. She is a published author, poet, performance artist, painter and graphic designer.
Stay tuned for more information and come prepared for an inspiring and thought-provoking session. We look forward to seeing you there!
Please note: the August LGBTIQA+ discussion group session will be held at Reginald Murphy Community Centre
