Lecture: Colourful Costumes China Guangxi Costumes Culture

When

Friday 27 June from 3pm to 4pm

Join us for a captivating lecture that celebrates the vibrant world of traditional costumes in Guangxi, a culturally rich region in southern China. Home to twelve ethnic groups — including the Zhuang, Yao, Miao, Dong, and more — Guangxi is a living mosaic of colour, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage.

This lecture shines a spotlight on the dazzling costumes and intricate textile arts that express each group’s unique identity, connection to nature, and vision of a beautiful life. From handwoven brocades to symbolic embroidery, every detail tells a story. Let’s experience the beauty of China’s cultural tapestry.
