Laura’s works have garnered awards and acclaim: the TimeOut Sydney Arts and Culture Award for “Best Musical” as well as the Sydney Theatre Award for “Best Production of a Musical” (Zombie!), the 57th AWGIE Award for Musical Theatre and the David Williamson Prize for Excellence in Writing for Australian Theatre (The Dismissal), Best Musical at the Matilda Awards (The Lovers), and hundreds of thousands of streams from her hit musical cast albums (Zombie! and The Lovers). Recently, Hayes audiences would have seen Laura in our first production of 2026, BARBRA: The Greatest Star, alongside performers Brittanie Shipway, Stellar Perry, and Tana Laga’aia.
