Now into its 17th year, the annual Jesse Younan Tribute Show is a special evening where a collection of some of Sydney's most talented singer/songwriters pay tribute to the late Jesse Younan by performing a collection of his songs.

We are excited to return to the Camelot Lounge, Django Bar for a magical night of music and memories with all proceeds going to the Leukaemia Foundation.

Sydney singer/songwriter Jesse Younan passed away on 22 July 2008, aged 35, following a short battle with leukaemia after just completing his fourth studio album, A Good Day for a Migraine.

The album received outstanding critical acclaim and an ever-increasing number of fans who have been deeply moved by Jesse's masterful song writing, virtuoso guitar-playing and melancholic voice.

The night promises to be a moving and powerful celebration of an exceptionally talented musician who used the magic of words and music to cope with life’s struggles.

Jesse left behind a rich catalogue of beautiful and haunting music. His music has featured on Wanted (Netflix); House Husbands (Channel 9); Packed to the Rafters (Channel 7) and East of Everything (ABC) and was performed live on Channel 9's, The Voice 2016, by Jesse's younger brother Emad Younan.

“There is no softness in a Jesse Younan song but there is much tenderness. By that I mean that he doesn’t avert his eyes, or yours, from harshness lived or observed ... Astonishingly good.” – Bernard Zuel (SMH)

“Sydney singer-guitarist Jesse Younan has a percussive fingerpicking style reminiscent of sharpening knives, and he sure knows how to use them.” – Michael Dwyer (The Age)

“Jesse Younan sets himself apart from the ‘another man, another guitar, another singer/songwriter’ pack in two ways. Firstly, Younan’s is one of the more talented acoustic guitarists treading the boards, his fine picking style sitting him somewhere between the folk of Richard Thompson and the blues of Tim Buckley. And secondly the Tim Buckley compassion doesn’t stop there, for there are moments, flashes, when Younan’s finely timbered mellifluous vocals begin to soar in a way that touches on the Buckleyesque” – Chris Peken (Alternative Media Group)
