Jeremy Rose’s Infinity + Freyja Garbett Album launch

Jeremy Rose’s Infinity and Freyja Garbett’s Sowden House come together for a double bill at Lazybones Lounge Marrickville on August 13. 

Infinity featuring Jeremy Rose with drummer Alexander Flood (Adelaide), keyboardist Zac Sandilands and modular player Ben Carey, explores the jazz/ambient world, creating expansive hypnotic long-form improvisations.

Freyja Garbett launches Sowden House, a richly atmospheric project inspired by an immersive VR game set inside Los Angeles’ infamous Sowden House, 

Together the night offers a journey through ambient textures, driving grooves and adventurous improvisation from two distinctive creative voices.

Jeremy Rose’s Infinity brings together saxophone, immersive electronics and deep rhythmic interplay built around long-form improvisation, cyclic structures and evolving sonic textures. Across two critically acclaimed releases, and their performance at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival last year, the project continues to evolve as a powerful live experience - expansive, hypnotic and exploratory. Described by DownBeat as “a meditative experience… mesmerizing” (★★★★) and by Jazzwise as “a bold adventurous journey… offering many rewards in terms of musicianship and sonic ambition,” Infinity sits within a new wave of artists blurring the lines between improvised music and ambient electronic forms. 

For this performance, Infinity features Jeremy Rose alongside drummer Alexander Flood, keyboardist Zac Sandilands and modular synthesist Ben Carey.

Freyja Garbett - Sowden House Album launch

Freyja Garbett’s Sowden House brings together jazz cinematic scoring psychedelic funk and video-game storytelling in a richly atmospheric project. Originally composed for an immersive VR game set inside Los Angeles’ infamous Sowden House the music evokes 1970s noir psychological tension spectral beauty and the strange glamour of Hollywood’s darker mythology. For this album launch Garbett leads a stellar sextet featuring Nick Garbett Michael Avgenicos Hilary Geddes Dave Quinn and Miles Thomas reimagining the album’s expansive sound world in a powerful live setting.
