Freyja Garbett’s Music From The Waves
feat. Sandy Evans

Commissioned by ABC Jazz and set for release in 2026, Music from the Waves is Freyja Garbett’s electro-acoustic suite inspired by her twin passions – improvised music and surfing. Drawing on a unique research project that turns wave motion into music, Garbett is joined by saxophone legend Sandy Evans, bassist Max Alduca and drummer Miles Thomas.

Lisathe

Local trio Lisathe (bassist Brendan Clark, guitarist Oliver Thorpe, and drummer Miles Thomas) craft warm, cinematic soundscapes blending blues, jazz and contemporary textures. Their immersive, beautifully finessed music calls to Bill Frisell, Charlie Haden and Daniel Lanois while channelling the sonic world of Björk’s atmospheric Icelandic melodies.
