Yulugi, a collaboration between leading song man Gumaroy Newman, Robert Waetherall on yidaki (didgeridoo) and dance, Raph Hatz also on yidaki, and Keyna Wilkins on piano and flute will be performing their improvised indigenous-jazz fusion at Marrickville venue, Lazybones at 7pm on Wednesday 13th August.

Newman a proud Gamilaroi and Wakka Wakka man, Waetherall a proud Gamilaroi, Bidgigal and Yuin man, Raph a proud Gamilaroi and Anaiwun man, and Wilkins a British-Australian composer/musician formed the group in 2019, when they also released their debut album “Chasing Stars To The Mother Tree”.

The word Yulugi means play and the group is a dialogue across cultures, inspired by the Australian landscape and animals. They have performed all over Australia including Woodford Folk Festival and Phoenix Central Park.

The LazyBones doors will open at 7pm and Yulugi will come on at 8pm.
