Learn the artform of joke-writing with the Sydney Comedy School!

This is Sydney's longest-running monthly stand-up comedy class, running since 2022.

How it works

• Join us for a fun introduction to stand-up comedy.

• Each month you'll explore a different stand-up comedy technique, so returning attendees will always learn something new.

• You'll write your own jokes, learn techniques used by professional comedians, and workshop your ideas in a relaxed, supportive environment.

After the class

• Sit back and enjoy the Sydney Stand-Up Comedy Championships, where you'll watch Sydney's newest comedians compete live.

• Couples are welcome! We usually get quite a few people coming to the class for their date night.

• Most class attendees hang out with each other during the show, making this a great experience if you're attending solo and looking to meet some new people.

What you should bring

Please bring a smartphone or notepad so you can write jokes!

The fine print

• This class is free for anyone attending the Sydney Stand-Up Comedy Championships immediately afterwards.

• If you'd like to attend the class without attending the show, you're very welcome to do so. Simply select the paid workshop option during booking, or pay $25 at the venue (card or cash).

• If you decide on the night that you'd like to stay for the show, tickets are available at the venue for $25 (card or cash).
