‘Forget Me Knot’ is a series of artworks that take inspiration from Angela Tam’s experience as a Chinese-Australian. It focuses on navigating, reconnecting and celebrating culture through festivities, friends and family.

The artwork showcases the intertwining of snakes into the shapes of Chinese knots, symbolising unity, luck and intuition. It acts as a reminder for Angela and other young Chinese-Australians who may feel disconnected from their roots to find new contemporary ways to celebrate culture in their own voices.

About the artist

Angela Tam is a Chinese-Australian artist, illustrator and designer, and the co-founder of Moiré Creative Partners. Her work is often inspired by the subconscious realm of dream-like surreal forms which reveal themselves to her through an interdisciplinary practice. She uses various mediums to expand her visual vocabulary, notably in painting, ink, sculpture and digital illustration.
