Finding family stories

When

Wednesday 5 August from 6pm to 7pm

Every day Library staff help visitors uncover the threads of their past — from the Indigenous Engagement branch’s work supporting First Nations family history research to the use of electoral rolls, manuscripts, maps and convict records.

During Family History Month, join us for a conversation about the work in drawing together the threads of family history: the complex ethics, the practical challenges and the powerful stories of discovery that emerge along the way.

This lecture is part of a series of panel discussions exploring the role of libraries, the work of librarians, curators and archivists, and the stories behind collections. From influential women who shaped the Library to ongoing efforts to address gaps in collections, these conversations examine the challenges, achievements, responsibilities, and what the next 200 years could hold for the Library.

This event is held in partnership with Schwartz Media.
