Festival of Balmain

Where
Darling St
Balmain NSW 2041
Australia
Darling Street (between Montague St and Gladstone Park)
When

Sunday 30 November from 11am to 5pm

Get ready to dance in the street, graze all day and soak up the best of the Balmain peninsula as Darling Street is transformed into a lively neighbourhood celebration.

Across three stages, Festival of Balmain celebrates all-things jazz, while bringing in fresh new sounds and styles from across the community. Headliner SUB-TRIBE is a jazz-infused dub-reggae band, whose glitchy beats and soaring harmonies are sure to get you moving. Joining them will be Son Patacore, with their vibrant Colombian rhythms, synth-pop duo Alibii and the sublime songs and dance of Yulugi – to name a few – alongside performances from local schools and next-generation talent.

Expect roving performances throughout the day, including Curious Legends’ other-worldly, oversized puppets, and bopping tunes from Dr Dan and the Gris Gris Combo.

Get creative at a photography or millinery workshop or join a guided tour of one of Balmain’s historical landmarks. Otherwise, play a game of novelty-sized Jenga before bringing your pooch down to the Gladstone Park Dog Zone. And be sure to check out the creative stalls, curated by Balmain Village Markets, alongside a diverse array of food vendors, local community organisations and local brewers and distillers.
