Wednesday 12 March from 1pm to 2pm
This important talk by Dr. Chris Pepin-Neff will discuss the threats that Nazism as an ideology poses as the pursuit of a "master race" including Germans with mental and physical disabilities, homosexuals, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Roma ("Gypsies"), Poles, and Soviet prisoners of war.
Paying special attention to the violence against the homosexuals of Germany between 1933-1945, Dr Pepin-Neff will link their research on moral panics, LGBTQ+ rights, disability, and marginalised communities to draw parallels with hate crimes that are designed to intimidate different groups.
Chris Pepin-Neff (they/them) is a Senior Lecturer in Public Policy in the Discipline of Government and International Relations – in the School of Social, and Political Sciences at Sydney University.
The Sydney Jewish Museum proudly presents this expert talk in partnership with The Chau Chak Wing Museum; Hebrew, Biblical and Jewish Studies at the University of Sydney; and Mandelbaum House.
