When

Tuesdays, 7pm to 9pm Tuesday 21 October to Tuesday 9 December

This course will assist students who want to write music using digital sounds in any style, to develop the technological skills that will enhance and inspire their composing and develop their live electronic music skills.

Students will learn how to create electronic music projects that can be applied to various software such as Reaper, Max/Msp, Logic, Studio One, Ableton and VCV Rack for sound design and sequencing.

The course is designed to be non-DAW specific so students can use their own software or follow along with the free option (Reaper) presented in the classes. There will be an opportunity to explore the creative possibilities of music technology by realising their own works.

By the end of this course students will have developed:

  • proficiency with software used for music production, editing and mixing and the ability to transfer the knowledge gained to other platforms

  • a basic competency in digital studio techniques and the ability to create diverse electronic music settings

  • a technical and creative confidence with music technology in the studio environment
