"Is this just a game to you?"
In the corner of your eye sits a figure, alone at a table, with only a battered handbook, a set of dice, and a cup of tea. A seat is open.
Passersby are invited to join in, and bystanders are invited to stand by. They could be anyone, and so could you.
From shapeshifting Māori storyteller Daley Rangi, dissent is a joyful and irreverent excavation of everyday resistance, inspired by roleplaying games old and new. Each roll of the dice, and each change of heart, shapes an unfolding, collective story - faced with escalating choices, the lines of responsibility between ‘individual’ and ‘community’ begin to blur.
In residence throughout the festival, and facilitated by a mischievous but supportive host, this is a free roleplaying encounter exploring ethical dilemma, social conditioning, and, of course, our most ancient ritual - play.
Stay as long as you can imagine.
