Saturday 10 October from 7pm to 10pm
It's the annual Gala performance, the sparkling centrepiece of the Hunters Hill Music season, featuring one of Australia’s most celebrated sopranos alongside a pianist of international distinction.
Siobhan Stagg is widely celebrated on the international stage for her “angelic voice” and “ethereal presence”, performing leading roles at major opera houses including the Royal Opera House, Deutsche Oper Berlin and Lyric Opera of Chicago, and appearing with orchestras such as the London Symphony and Melbourne Symphony.
She is joined by acclaimed pianist Jonathan Ware, whose artistry has graced revered recital venues worldwide including Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall and the Concertgebouw.
Sit back and be transported through a richly evocative program of vocal storytelling featuring ancient chant by Hildegard von Bingen, the transcendent beauty of Gabriel Fauré’s Chanson d’Eve, a radiant cantata by Mozart, a hymn of creation from Haydn and Sibelius’ mystical Luonnotar among other treasures.
Following the 90-minute recital enjoy a post-performance supper with the artists at the Town Hall, curated by Boronia Kitchen and Savannah Estate Wines.
