Wednesday 10 June from 7pm to 8:30pm
Internationally acclaimed British violinist Daniel Hope returns to Sydney for the first time since 2014, joining pianist Marie-Sophie Hauzel for a compelling recital inspired by his mentor, Yehudi Menuhin.
For more than 35 years, Hope has been a leading presence on the international stage, renowned for his versatility, imaginative programming and distinctive artistry. An exclusive Deutsche Grammophon artist, he first rose to prominence as the youngest member of the Beaux Arts Trio and has since performed in over 400 chamber concerts worldwide, alongside directing the Zurich Chamber Orchestra and New Century Chamber Orchestra.
This 75-minute recital brings together a vibrant program of Enescu, Fauré and Dvořák, alongside Mendelssohn and Elgar’s powerful Violin Sonata — music rich in lyricism, colour and emotional depth.
Performing on the rare 1742 “ex-Lipínski” Guarneri del Gesù, Hope promises an evening of virtuosity, refinement and expressive insight.
