In this 8-week Monday morning course starting you’ll create functional and decorative objects like bowls and pots, that are a pleasure to hold, look at and use.
Our expert ceramicist will help you build your skills to construct clay forms at the wheel and by hand. Learn hand building and throwing, pressing and coiling, as well as how to apply slips, glazes, and other surface treatments to make your pieces look more polished and professional.
Full instruction is provided on the best materials, products, tools, equipment and studio procedures.
All pieces created in the course must be no more than 25 cubic centimetres. Your work will be fired and ready to collect after the course. We’re unable to fire pieces made outside of the course.
This course takes place on Monday over 8 weeks:
Week 1: 2 February, 10.00am to 12.30pm
Week 2: 9 February, 10.00am to 12.30pm
Week 3: 16 February, 10.00am to 12.30pm
Week 4: 23 February, 10.00am to 12.30pm
Week 5: 2 March, 10.00am to 12.30pm
Week 6: 9 March, 10.00am to 12.30pm
Week 7: 16 March,10.00am to 12.30pm
Week 8: 23 March,10.00am to 12.30pm
Intimate class size: maximum 10 students
Level: designed for beginner level students 16+yrs
Wear: comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes
Bring: yourself and an apron – all other materials provided
