Thursday 21 August from 2pm to 2:45pm
Meet book illustrator Jade Goodwin as she reads Earthspeak: Boodjar Wangkiny, a beautiful story that celebrates the wonders of nature, the power of listening to Country, and sharing culture through Noongar language. Listen along as she shares the inspiration behind the illustrations.
Join Jade Goodwin as she invites students to notice the world around them – how it looks, sounds and feels – and discover how artists and storytellers use those details to bring stories to life. Jade will guide students through a fun hands-on activity inspired by the earthy, textured endpapers of Earthspeak: Boodjar Wangkiny.
In this session, students will create their own artworks that reflect the colours and textures of Country. To do this, they will need paper, pencils or crayons, and some natural materials like bark, leaves, rocks and flowers. It is important to note these need to be gathered before the session.
Suitable for children aged 7-10 but all welcome.
This event will be held online via Zoom. You will be sent the link to join the session with your booking confirmation. For help with joining and participating in Zoom Webinars: Joining and participating in Zoom Webinars.
