Pre-Primary and Primary in Dance follow the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) syllabus and are progressions from preschool ballet classes. The RAD is an internationally recognised organisation in classical ballet education. They provide a strong foundation for higher levels of ballet or other dance style later in life.

Your child will learn the fundamentals of ballet technique within short exercises and dances – these are all presented in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We begin to use a natural turnout position, encourage length and line throughout the body and develop strength through the core with good posture.

Your dancer will also love the use of props and learning about stage craft in these fun classes. As well at set exercises, we focus on a different classical ballet each term so the children can gain further understanding of ballet outside of class.

Skills such as motor control, musicality, recall, coordination and control are some of the many learning outcomes for this class.
