Bach in the Dark is back in the magical space of St James Church crypt.

To start the 2026 Bach in the Dark year, Rachel is joined by some of her favourite musicians – Raff and Janet Agostino on classical guitars. These three friends have been playing together for years, and are delighted to be down in the crypt again!

Expect a gamba sonata by J.S. Bach, a piece that will slow your heart completely by Sculthorpe, music from Spain, a beautiful piece by Sydney-based composer Richard Charlton, some folk-songs that’ll get your toes tapping, and some film music that will make you smile! There’ll be something for everyone!

Book

The crypt will be open at 6:30pm, and a glass of wine (or non-alcoholic equivalent) will be offered to every patron. Ticket sales will stop at 2pm on the day of the concert, and if there are any tickets available, they will be available at the doors of the crypt as you arrive.
