Wednesday 12 November from 10:30am to 12:30pm
In this audio descriptive tour, Dr Lisa Andrew will guide you through the exhibition J.W. Power: Art, War and the Avant-Garde and discuss the work of this important but little-known Australian artist.
We will begin the session through audio description of clay art and artefacts in the collection and strategically using tactile objects in the gallery where you will get the chance to handle ceramics, including pieces made by the artists. Hear about some of the artist’s processes and work and how their works are placed within the traditions over thousands of years of humans making clay objects. Participants are encouraged to engage in an informal discussion about the objects you are touching and hearing about.
