We welcome Andrew Ensor back for his third solo exhibition at Tiliqua Tiliqua.

Andrew began drawing birds around 2007, originally inspired by pigeons and a need to capture the kind of mundane beauty we’re surrounded by every day but take for granted. It quickly became a common reoccurring source of inspiration, returning regularly, like a migration cycle.

Featherbrain introduced two new series alongside a selection of highlights from past bird themed shows as well as some previously un-exhibited drawings. Of the new series, the first draws inspiration from Australian Natives such as Rainbow Lorikeets and Honeyeaters while the second focuses on Honeyeaters as a jumping off point to transition into a new visual symbol.

These new works are contrasted with a series of anthropomorphised images from 2010-2012 where bird headed figures act as mannequins for antique dresses and modern fashions.

Celebratory drinks: 1–3pm Saturday 28 June
